Location: Knottingley, West Yorkshire

Salary: £35,500.00 per annum plus call out payments of £91 per call out

Working hours: Shift times will vary; Monday to Friday 6am-2pm / 7am-3pm / 8am-4pm plus call out on rota (1 week in 3)

This is a day position, working 40 hours per week, typically 6.00am to 2.00pm Monday to Friday, however, there is an element of flexibility required for this role and as such these may change from time to time to suit factory needs. In addition, you will also be required to be on call one week in three.

To support growth and increasing production demands, we are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated and pro-active individual to join the Engineering Department as an On-Call Electrical Engineer located in Knottingley, West Yorkshire.

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader and working within a small team, the role is responsible for the provision of an ‘on-call’ service to rectify and eliminate equipment faults and failures and minimise machine downtime, via a committed rota (one week in three), covering 365 days per year. This on-call provision will commence after familiarisation of the site and machinery.

Suitable candidates should be fully apprentice trained, or equivalent, and possess a good level of Maths and English, candidates may be requested to undertake an aptitude test to demonstrate these skills.

Candidates must be able to communicate confidently and effectively all levels, both written and oral, have good organisational skills with a logical and methodical approach to work. The ability to work well under pressure, in a hostile working environment and prioritise workloads is also essential to this role, together with excellent problem solving skills. Previous knowledge of working within a glass manufacture plant and/or 24-hour process environment would be an advantage, however, not essential.
