​F​irst Choice Recruitment are looking for a Production Operative to work for our family-run business based in Wakefield, WF2. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to develop their skills and join a successful, expanding and friendly team on a permanent basis.

Duties to include:

  • To conduct machine fill according to company quality standards and production priorities

  • To conduct hand fill according to company quality standards and production priorities

  • Ensure pouches are labelled in-line with current company guidelines

  • Make sure all productions room are clean and safe for the production operatives to start

  • Check for machinery cross contamination before the start of each batch

  • Ensure the maintenance of the pot wash room

  • Quality checks on all ingredients that is to become the finished product, including pouches

  • Filling machines and servicing rooms to assist the production operative to start each batch

  • Ensure the smooth running of the production operatives role and reporting any issues to Production Manager

  • Quality checks on all label positioning, final seal condition and BB: print is present & clear

  • Ensure that high standards are adhered to at all times, including personally, for the production rooms and for production operatives

  • Completing all electronic documentation before the start and completion of batches

  • End of shift cleaning duties so all rooms meet high quality standards

  • End of week deep cleaning duties so all rooms are upheld to a further high standard

The ideal candidate...

  • Must have previous production/production line experience, ideally within a food manufacturing environment

  • Have good computer skills

  • Pay excellent attention to detail

  • Be a Team Player

  • Be flexible

Pay Rate: £17,004 per annum (pay review after 12 weeks of successful probation period, to be reviewed with the client)

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday, 08:30 to 16:50 and either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday (08:30 to 15:00)
