First Choice Recruitment are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to work with our international manufacturing client based in Pontefract. The overall purpose of the job is the provision of effective HR support within the UK business working with the HR Manager, UK & International site, and the line managers
Scope of the role:
The main are of responsibility will be with the employees at 2 sites, employees circa 300.
Tasks and responsibilities:
1. Provide guidance and support on all HR related matters to the line managers covering the entire employee life cycle
2. Ensure compliance within the business to legal and Company requirements
3. Support absence management
4. Coach line managers on people management matters
5. Administrative support, maintenance of employee records and data analysis, as required.
Knowledge
Knowledge of UK employment legislation and best working practices would be an advantage
Education:
• Batchelor’s degree or equivalent
• CIPD qualified (or working towards) is desirable
Functional /Technical Skills:
• A working knowledge of word and excel
• Driving licence is essential
Experience:
• The role would be suitable for a graduate who had post qualification experience or who had experience in industry as part of their degree
• 1 year + HR generalist experience
• Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is desirable
• Experience of working in a unionized environment is desirable
Competencies:
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to adapt depending on the audience
• Self-motivated and seeking to develop self and the role
• Flexible attitude to demand with the capability to prioritise workload according to changing demand
• The confidence to question the process and suggest improvement
• The capability to produce and analyse data
Special factors of the role–Travel in the UK will be required post Covid
