HR Admin Assistant

We are looking for an experienced HR Administrator / HR Assistant to provide maternity cover [between 9-12 months] to commence the role early to mid June 2019.

The role will be based at our Head Office in Houghton-le-Spring and will report direct to the Group HR Manager.
The main purpose of this role is to provide administrative and clerical services to support the day to day function of the Group Human Resources Department.

Key Responsibilities
• Issuing offer letters and contracts of employment
• Collating new starter information including ID, eligibility paperwork, signed contracts and ensuring all employee information is received in a timely manner
• Working with, updating and maintaining the company’s HR System “Sage”
• Ensuring all HR and employee documentation is up to date and compliant
• Preparing the company Newsletter
• Assisting in maintaining and controlling the completeness of employee training records
• Processing the PCNs
• Producing Management Information reports
• Note taking in a variety of different HR meetings (eg : Investigations, Disciplinary, Grievance etc)
• Reacting to incoming calls and emails for HR or payroll advice
• Assisting in the preparation of Payroll information
• Mentor and coach to the HR Admin Apprentice

Candidate requirements

You must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an HR Administration or HR Assistant role together with knowledge of HR Systems and Excel Spreadsheets.

You should have excellent written English skills and be a good communicator. You should also be experienced in dealing with highly confidential information.

Ideally working towards, or already achieved CIPD Level 3 [or above] .

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm [or 9.30 am to 5.30 pm].

A full UK Driving Licence is essential as there may be a requirement to travel to different sites across the North East [to attend HR meetings as note-taker].
