Stock Control Administrator


08.30 – 5pm Mon – Fri.

First Choice are recruiting for a Stock Control Administrator for our client who is an industry-leading manufacturer of home improvement products spanning contemporary extensions, conservatories, orangeries, roofs, glass, windows and doors in both uPVC and aluminium.

As Stock Control Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration and reporting on the stock position of the business to key stakeholders. You will understand and implement the full process of the Yard, ordering product, receiving deliveries, booking in stock; issuing out stock, profile checking and managing the completion of monthly stock takes within deadlines set.


You will have the ability to implement process, and possess excellent planning, communication and organisational skills. You will be an excellent problem solver and be able to make good decisions. You will have proven experience of teamwork, with strong leadership skills.You will be driven to meet deadlines, with a strong desire to achieve customer satisfaction. You will be highly motivated, with a “can-do” approach, enthusiastic and committed. You will know what it takes to achieve targets – and you’ll have the motivation to get results.

Your key responsibilities and activities will include:


·        To oversee and implement updated procedures for issuing out stock within the Factory and Yard ensuring items are picked in a timely and efficient manner working closely with the Production Team to identify any stock shortages;

·        Administrating and liaising with suppliers and transport companies to diarise and book in materials being supplied;

·        To implement a robust stock control system and ensuring that the correct stock levels are maintained to ensure no shortages arise;

·        To manage and liaise with purchasing and suppliers on goods inwards discrepancies and returns where applicable.

·        To control, track and issue works orders to the picking team, prioritising the requirements alongside set production requirement dates;

·        To develop, assess, update and maintain all SOP’s and risk assessments within the Yard;

·        To manage monthly stock take counts, ensure that stock take sheets / tablets are prepared and issued in a timely manner and the completed sheets / tablets are returned to the Purchasing Department;

·        To work closely with the Yard Manager and Head of Purchasing to ensure all stock levels are kept up to date and stock levels are continuously updated to reflect the business needs;

·        To coach and mentor staff team, initiating, coordinating and enforcing company systems, policies and procedures;


Person Attributes:


·        Experience of the window industry with sound working knowledge and experience of working in a similar role in a fast-moving company;

·        Experience of monitoring stock levels and able to implement new initiatives and effective processes to manage products and timescales;

·        Strong people management skills, an assertive, confident individual who can manage a team and gain respect from colleagues with the ability to coach, mentor and motivate the staff team;

·        To be fully competent in all areas Yard, with the ability to identify and develop and manage process improvement through attention to detail;

·        Strong leadership skills, with excellent planning, organisational, decision making and problem-solving skills;

·        Excellent IT skills;

·        Yard experience would be an advantage but not essential.
