First Choice Recruitment are actively recruiting, on behalf of our client, for a QC professional to join their team based in Wakefield.
OVERVIEW:
To monitor product quality, ensuring that it is manufactured to specification and that non-conforming product is not dispatched to customers.
To observe company environmental, health and safety regulations at all times
To use established test procedures to carry out tests on manufactured products and record results
To analyse results and provide practical solutions
To relate to operatives how and why tests are carried out
To work with operatives and/or supervisors in cases of non-conformance to quickly resolve quality problems
To advise management of quality related problems
To release only conforming products
To minimise waste and maintain a clean and tidy work environment
To maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices at all times.
To maintain accurate records according to requirements
To adhere to ISO 9001 requirements.
To constantly look for opportunities to improve the process or product
MAIN DUTIES
To work as part of the shift team and to communicate effectively with the Shift Manager
To perform a minimum of TWO documented line checks on each line per 12 hours shift (provided lines are running) including checking operator sheets are correctly completed
To quarantine non-conforming product for sorting or disposal
To check and sign off wrapped pallets and record in pallet log book using the computer
To perform a full line check at the set up of every job, and to sign the works order off only when the product meets all requirements
To continuously monitor line quality performance.
Specifically:
Print Quality (one per print blanket every 2 hours)
Lacquer integrity (one per print mandrel every 2 hours)
All customer samples for visual defects
To perform a 100% check on one bundle, twice per shift per line, for visual defects
Wash tanks PH level once per 24 hours (between 6 and 10am)
To assist line personnel in finding the origin of quality concerns
To collect and record analytical information in support of problem solving
To enforce quality procedures especially DWI P15 Discovery of a quality issue
To document all quality concerns affecting more than one pallet, and ensure reports are available for the following morning meeting, with samples
To maintain quality records according to requirements (i.e production records, retains, customer samples, tolerance cards) and produce Certificates of Conformance as required
To assist in maintaining production measuring equipment
To produce Colour Tolerance Cards as required and maintain the filing system
To perform internal quality Audits to ISO 9001 abd ISO 14001 as require
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
Excellent standard of written and verbal English
Strong numerical aptitude
Computer literate – Excel (essential) – SAP (desirable)
Knowledge of ISO 9001 (desirable)
3-5 years’ experience in Quality Inspection (ideally in an engineering environment)
SHIFTS- 4 on - 4 off (12hr Shifts 2 days - 2 nights)
