Class 1 Driver

£33,000 - £35,000 + Overtime + Shift incentives
First Choice Recruitment are actively recruiting a HGV Class 1 driver for their established client in Wakefield on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centres
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- General haulage with max three drops normally RDC deliveries on curtainsiders
- Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
Ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 2 years experience
- No more than 6 points
